I ask this on this forum, because we're a Texas guys.
I know that some states don't, and to my knowledge no Federal laws (YET!)....but does Texas have a legal limit on the amount of ammo of each caliber owned at any one time?

thanks,
dS

:iagree: my pocket book and carpel tunnel from pulling the handle on my reloading press :smash: :patriot: :fire

My teens are shooters too, and they have taken some of the responsibility of reloading now, so that helps.

Texas Local Government Code prohibits regulation of loaded ammunition but a local government can pass an ordinance against storing more than 25 pounds of black powder in a private residence.

A co-worker was trying to convince me, the other day, that there is both a state and federal limit on the amount of black powder one could possess. I didn't laugh in his face, but he remained steadfastly ignorant in spite of my insistence that he show me the laws.

Local Government Code Chapter 235 gives urban counties the power to regulate storage of black powder and smokeless powder. They cannot set a limit lower than 50 pounds.

At present, I think only Dallas, Tarrant, Harris, and Bexar counties have the requisite 1 million population.

There is no state or federal limit.

Its a state law that if you have less than 1000 rounds, your citizenship will be revoked.

:iagree:

Roger that! Your pocket book and a concrete floor are the only limitations I know of. ;-)

There is a maximum of 500 rounds per caliber.

Please give me you address so that I can help you lower your round count. I'll bring the chips. :biggrinjester:

Heh. One of my wife's friends found some ammunition in her garage and asked if we could dispose of it safely.

Yes, we can.
