Courthouse annex?

Cherokee County has a "Courthouse Annex", which is a completely separate building and is used for a variety of county functions. Can one legally carry in such a building?

IANAL, but it will depend on what is in the annex. If there are courts there, no. A secured area of a police station, no. Other than that, I can't think of anything that would prevent it, but others here may.

I carry in the Walker County Annex building every time I go there, except when I go there to vote (polling place).

Thanks ya'll. I'm heading there later and I'll carry unless I see anything that would indicate a courtroom. I know our annex doesn't have any police/sheriff secure areas as that all occurs in a separate building.

It's my understanding that city/county government buildings can't be posted because of state preemption.

Well, it went without incident. I didn't see anything pertaining to any court, although there was a "corrections office" upstairs but it didn't look secure. It looks like a paperwork factory more than anything else.
