A "Pistols" Category on Jeopardy! today!!

I was impressed. . . actual gun-related questions with no apologies, careful introduction, or apparent bias. I'll list the questions below and then the correct responses in the following post. Remember, all responses must be in the form of a question. I think the clues are fairly easy to most gun enthusiasts, but it's still neat to see Jeopardy! have a category about firearms.

$200:
We can just see English poet Robert toting this company's hi-power Mark III 9mm pistol

$400:
This German semi-automatic was first manufactured in 1900.

$600:
One of the most prolific pistols ever created is the model 1851 Navy 6-shooter from this manufacturer.

$800:
In the Lincoln assassination, John Wilkes Booth used a single-shot .44 caliber this.

$1000:
Though the names don't start with M or P, this 2 named company makes the M&P compact 9mm.

Correct responses:

*Adding empty space to get them off of the screen of the clues*

$200:
We can just see English poet Robert toting this company's hi-power Mark III 9mm pistol
What is Browning?

$400:
This German semi-automatic was first manufactured in 1900.
What is Luger?

$600:
One of the most prolific pistols ever created is the model 1851 Navy 6-shooter from this manufacturer.
What is Colt?

$800:
In the Lincoln assassination, John Wilkes Booth used a single-shot .44 caliber this.
What is Derringer?

$1000:
Though the names don't start with M or P, this 2 named company makes the M&P compact 9mm.
What is Smith & Wesson?

*******************************************************************************************************************************
How did you do? Assuming nobody beat me to the buzzer, I earned $3,000.

Special thanks to my wife for transcribing the category clues for me.

Of course, this is to be collected in unmarked, non-sequential, fantasy, armchair-Jeopardy!-contestant bills.

Shouldn't it be WHO is Smith and Wesson?

Yep. . . but. . . for some reason they are militant on requiring you to use the question form (especially in Double Jeopardy - no friendly reminders there), but they're not militant on enforcing the right question be used. Basically, as long as you say, "What is" and then the correct answer, you'll get it right.

*On edit: On second thought. . . even though it references that S&W is named after people, it is asking for the company name, so "What" is correct. My first statement still stands true, however.

We're gaining ground.

Not fast enough, but we're gaining ground culturally.

They got every one of them. I think that's why they were low-hanging fruit. . . the general populace is so ignorant about firearms that they couldn't get much more specific than these softballs. :coolgleamA:

I might have been wordy in my post. . . I was surprised that they didn't include any sort of careful introduction. He unapologetically introduced the category as if it was an everyday topic for normal conversation and nobody ever made a comment about it except to answer the clues.

It's a low bar, but I'd call it a success. I guess I just always expect the worst when the topic of guns comes up, so when people do what should be the minimum acceptable behavior, I get excited. :hurry:

Im still on the fence. They did manage to get Lincolns assasination in there. They could have replaced it with something like this:

This pistol designed by John Browning saw service in WW1, WW2, Korea, and Vietnam, serving from 1911 until 1985 and saved the lives of countless American Soldiers and Allies.

And the answer is? :headscratch
