Wow, I think I may have converted someone

I was chatting with a female friend and she brought up the gun topic "I just don't see why I'd need one. I don't get it".

My initial reply was was Well, if you were able the predict the situations where you would need a gun you would avoid them all together in the first place. The problem is life happens.

Then I sent her a link to the dog walking robbery victim article. To my surprise she responded "Wow. Thanks for that, I guess I needed a slap in the face"

Congrats on the victory.

Hopefully she'll follow up with wanting some more advice. If not, you may consider following up with her on what she would do in such a situation.

Nicely done.

Good Job!

If she needs a follow-up, send her the thread about the college student who called 911 and the police arriving 48 minutes after her call.

And after her death, I might add.

Wait a few days, then invite her along on your next range trip.

Good idea. She lives in SanAn, as it happens I'll be there mid Jan. Anyone have any good recommendations for San Antonio ranges?

Good Job, Their are several ranges here in San Antonio, The indoor range is Texas Thunder Range on Bandera, But the outdoor range I use is the Bullethole, not much to look at but it is cheap to shoot there. Their number is 210-679-6781. Have fun

Sounds similar to a recent experience of mine.
A couple, who are friends of the family, always came across as rather anti-gun/liberal/progressive. I always kept very quiet about my "hobby" around them.
We've known each other for almost 20yrs.
After the '08 election the woman of this couple calls me out of the blue. She somehow found out I was a gun bug and asked me to take her and hubby out shooting. I did. It was a revelation to them both.
They are now pursuing obtaining CHL's!!!! :eek6 You could of knock me over with a feather!

Congratulations on a good job! I think there are a lot of people that are becoming aware of the need to protect themselves. Times are rough and are going to get a whole lot rougher in the days to come.

I prefer Bracken Range, on the NE side. It's an outdoor range with many stations. $7 for the first gun then $3.50 for all others I believe (pistols that is).

:clapping: Congrats on the convert. Keep leading her to the light!

Go to Bullethole. TX THUNDER IS A RIPOFF, not only do you have to buy their ammo, which is really high, plus if your not a member its $25 per person to shoot there, yearly membership cost minimum $365 plus a $150 refundable deposit. Not to mention they check your bag before you enter the range!!!!! Bullethole is much cheaper and you can bring your own ammo. If weather is a concern you can always shoot at Bass Pro Shops, they have an indoor range, but its by appointment only so they can make sure they have a guy there if you need extra ammo or targets so he can bring them to you. Bass Pro Shops does require you to buy their ammo there but its cheaper than going to TX Thunder.
