Don't know what to think.
Kind of a head scratcher.

Well.....it's ugly, but I bet you could be crazy accurate with it! Little Nick needs a cousin.

That's pretty neat. I could get one and carry it in my other pocket.

That is very sweet! I'd buy one in a heart beat... but I can't find one for sale. Too early?

Its still heavier then the 340pd and it only handles .38s.

Yeah, but I bet it winds up being much less expensive than a 340pd.

This little Ruger looks like it might end up being an ideal gun for my wife.

Ruger will announce them tomorrow at the Shot Show (1-15-09).
If they follow their normal marketing model, the guns should be available around June.
Then of course there will be a recall around November.

Sorry, the :evil2: made me do it.

I was expecting this very gun in 327 MAG from Ruger. Has the company abandoned it's own baby already?

Hmmm.

Don't know what to make of this one. "Polymer" and "revolver" don't even belong in the same ZIP CODE let alone the same gun!

This just seems so wrong ( in seven different languages!!! ).

I reserve the right to be wrong...just my initial impressions.

Call me old school.

I was never a big fan of Ruger until the LCP. I was considering a Kel-Tec and the LCP was such an improvement. Other than the recall the LCP has been exactly what I expected: Small, reliable, quality product. I would expect the same of the new LCR including the recall which seems to be one of Ruger's new features as well. Which brings me to an interesting question. If the LCR is introduced and recalled later, what will Ruger do for their customers? We obviously will not get a free spare magazine and grip extension! Maybe just a ball cap.

The LCP and LCR are products that you have to put in perspective when purchasing. They are small, polymer, inexpensive weapons designed for concealed carry and defensive shooting. These are not target pistols designed for extensive target practice or accuracy at distances beyond 7-10 yards. I have heard many complaints about sights on the LCP from buyers that simply did not understand the intended purpose or use for these firearms.

While I am happy with my LCP, I purchased it because it was an improvement over the existing weapons of similarity (Kel-Tec P3AT). I know that some of you may disagree but my experience with fit, finish and reliability of the Kel-Tec has been less than acceptable for a carry gun. The LCR is a different story. I think there are too many other options far superior in this class. I would spend the extra bucks for a S&W. There are simply too many other options with proven track records! Unless Ruger is really creative on the price point for the LCR, I think it will be a tough sell.

As much as I like my LCP, I wish I would have bought a G27 or G26. Who knows, I may just see if someone wants to trade soon.

If the street price is close to the Taurus 85 they might have a winner.
