Would having a CHL lead to confiscation?

Like the title says, "Would having a CHL lead to confiscation?". Since TX doesn't have gun registration and we don't have to register the handgun(s) we use for CHL like some other states do, should gun confiscation occur, CHL'ers would IMO, be the first one's to be hit, or am I too paranoid???? Also, would that be PC to search for other firearms should confiscation happen?

Does anyone really know how long stores keep 4473's?????

IANAL
IIRC, form 4473 is kept forever at the store that fills it out. If that store goes out of business, the forms go to the BATF.

At this pint, the odds of confiscation are very long. AWB, "gunshow loophole" (ban FTF sale), child locks, bullet taxes, CHL bans and ... are much higher up the agenda. IMHO, registration will happen before confiscation.

When its time to bury your guns, its time to dig them up an use them.

When the conversation comes to confiscation, you have to consider the enormity of the process. The U.S. Government does not have enough " willing " participants to confiscate enough guns to even make a dent in the gun density per citizen, nor will they in the near future. The fact that you are a CHL only tells them ( State, Feds, ect. ) that you own a gun, not how many or what type. In my opinion, it will not happen in my lifetime, ( i'm 40 ) and if it does I will be a dead man. Nuff said.

Isn't registration the first step toward confiscation?

BTW, what does IIRC mean?

Having a CHL does not necessarily mean you own a firearm of any kind. I have two friends who have CHLs who do not own guns.

I just do not see confiscation as a reality now or anytime soon. Passing a law and the ability to enforce it are two entirely two separate issues. I say good luck gettin' em! :fire

We supposedly have laws against illegal immigration, you've seen how well they've been able to effectively enforce that.

That is more common than most folks realize. I know a feller with a CHL and no gun because he has fallen upon hard financial times and sold his handgun to pay some bills. I took my CHL class with a woman who was there because her brother made her take the class(her words). She had borrowed his handgun for the class and said she didn't plan on buying a handgun for carrying.

yea but you have to remember the gov. can pick and choose what law they want to enforce at what time.

They have not attempted to enforce immigration laws.

If the ICE enforced immigration laws the way BATFE enforces firearms laws you would hear an uproar from the left like you have never heard.

We are the evil.
