Evil Black purchases last weekend...a narrative.

For entertainment purposes only:
I decided that I wanted to add a little HP and MPG to my car:

2008 Challenger SRT8
So I took it to the dealer and had them install this:

K&N Air Intake - I now get 436 HP & 17.5 MPG
While waiting for the installation I drove by the local gunshop, and saw a sign, which drew me in...

Bushmaster AR-15 (spitting image of the M-4 I had in Afghanistan)
After picking up my car, I went to the pet store and adopted this fellow:

Zack.
Those were my Evil Black Purchases for the week.

Congratulations.
About the only thing you missed was the "Black Cat" firecrackers.
All three items look like fine additions to anyone's family. (I do like cats).

I want to get a combat-sling for old-times sake...for the EBG of course.

When Alex, the EBC (Evil Black Cat) pictured was a kitten, I used to carry him around in a sling, because he was a bottle kitten, and needed constant attention, so I guess you could say I had a sling for my EBR AND my EBC...

I believe that my EBC is part-Siamese. He will not stop talking.

Being able to go out and placate my whims like that ALMOST makes me want to get a job. Enjoy it while you can.

Instead of referring to it as "placating my whims", I call it, "spending my Bonus".

I used to get bonuses when I had a job. Maybe I can qualify for some sort of bailout and get them again?
Enjoy.

How do you like that SRT 8? I almost bought one but instead went with something more conservative.

I really enjoy it.
Monstrous Brimbo race brakes make it stop nicely. Handles well for a rear-wheel drive vehicle. It does not have the weird V-8 engine that can coast along on 4-cylinders to save gas.
Despite its size and 4-doors, it is most comfortable with four passengers. The seats are all "wrap-around" that contour well to fat and old people alike. The center rear-seat is really an afterthought, and folds down to make a really nice center console with two large cupholders.
I normally (legalese for the majority of the time) drive it like an old lady. Keeping that in mind, I average 17.5 mpg, which is more than I expected in city driving.
It goes in for oil changes every 3,000 miles and uses synthetic oil (close to $90-100 per oil change). That irks me to no end, as my 2008 BMW Z-4 uses the same oil and does not need its first oil-change until it reaches 15,000 miles. Other than that, I really like it.

You may not need company for the car or the cat, but I'm bettin' you end up with another EBR before the year is out.

Don't say that.
When I was at the store a few days later ostensibly looking at optics, they brought down a beautiful AR to "demo" them with. I immediately wanted to buy it. But I didn't. Not at that time, anyway.
