It seems like 90% of the people on here "never drink" but there's actually a bar on location, for those that are so inclined. (Yes, it's only opened up after all the guns are locked up). It's bring your own tent and camp out if you like too.
I went last year, it was really fun. I actually got some shooting tips from Tequilla, the host of Cowboys on the Outdoor channel. Thought I'd repost here in case anyone was interested.The second annual ATF Day, March 7-8 in Columbus, Texas, co-hosted by the Texas Historical Shootist Society and the Austin Young Republicans, is not affiliated with any Federal bureau but is a great opportunity to get together and celebrate our rights while poking a little fun at the government.
This year, some high-powered machine guns will kick off the event on Saturday morning and then after lunch, we'll go back in time for some afternoon cowboy action shooting in a town called Gunsmoke. Entertainment, dinner, dancing, tall tales by the bonfire, and fine cigars will relax you before it's time to bunk down. Sunday morning offers a Texas-style breakfast and Cowboy Church.
Early registration is $75. Late registration (after February 20) is $100. Your paid registration covers gun rental, ammunition, lunch, entertainment, dinner, a primitive campsite, and breakfast. This event is open to the public—you don't have to be a club member to attend!
