Heads up, just checked it again this evening and its showing 9mm HST's in stock. Went ahead and put in an order. Hopefully it doesnt get backordered, but oh well, had to jump at it. They were not listed earlier this evening when I checked so it must have been recently added.

Thanks for the headsup.

Hopefully there is still some for sale when I get off from work at midnight tonight.

Can't access very many firearm related sites at work.

What is it about this HST round all of a sudden? :headscratch First, there is the garden variety Tactical HST, above. Then there's Tactical Bonded HST for law enforcement only, below.

In this second category, there is definitely a probable winner in the 9mm 135 grain round at 1060 FPS with 337 ft-lbs. KE. Both of these by ATK Corp., the maker of Speer Gold Dots ammo. I read recently the unbonded HST's are much cheaper than the bonded version.

I see little or no difference between photos of the HST and Gold Dot bullets after expansion, except for that little gold dot in the later.

:headscratch

There is no Tactical Bonded HST, its either HST or Tactical Bonded, two different types of bullets. The HST's have a larger, more aggressive mushroom than that of the Gold Dots, and have been shown to expand reliably through several types of barriers while retaining all of its weight. You can go to le.atk.com and read the ballistics tests that different LE agencies have run. Both are great bullets, but the larger and more uniform expansion of the HST's sold me.
