I personally did not go, but a close friend of mine attended. He said there was AR stuff everywhere. All the people panicking about availability of AR stuff can calm down. I had him get me a Lower parts kit, AR pistol buffer, buffer tube and spring, and price some 7.5-10.5 uppers for me with SOG Armory. They are in the price range I had expected, he also said they had 20 or so stripped lowers in various makes and quality levels on the table. The cheap ones were 175 and the billet models were a little less that 300 I believe. Lots of complete rifles and upper assemblies. I also had him look for a CZ75 compact for me which he was unable to find. Honestly not knowing how hard he looked...I bet there was one there. We have both dealt with SOG before and they are top notch people down there. Answer any question, they KNOW what they have in stock and they know everything you need to know about NFA items too. I went yesterday for the last hour of the show, not looking to buy anything but merely browse since I was passing through houston, and I didn't see an AK for under $600. (of the few Ak's that were left) I unloaded my kimber in the car and took it along with me, checked it in at the front and the officer asked if I had any extra ammo on me to which I replied yes I have a spare mag and I got to leave it up front and pick it up on my way out. The only thing the officer said as he returned my mag was "please wait till you get to the car and have a nice day." I thought it was pretty cool no one flipped out and was okay with it. I also noticed other cups, some with a mag or two and some with only five rounds of .38!

*sigh*
Wish I could have gone. Haven't bought a gun of my own in 3 or 4 years. I still need...want to replace my M-1 Carbine that I sold (still have magazines and even a box of ammo) for a working Auto Ordinance. Still want to buy the new Auto Ordinance Thompson pistol. Still would like a Uberti Springfield Trapdoor 45-70 Carbine, Still would like a pre-Model 10 S&W 5 inch, still would like...oh well. After I get my house finished.....

It was an intersting show. Prices are still high and ammunition is still flying off the table rapidly. Although prices for handgun are actually quite good in you can find the right places.

I actually purchased some cast bullets for the first time at a gun show. I was rather surprised that there was a vendor selling cast bullets. I have not seen any cast bullet vendors in the last year or so going to about 8 or 10 gun shows. Their prices were reasonable. I bought 500 rds of .45 ACP 230 grain round nose for $38.00.

Wow. I need to get to a show and sell my WASR-10 before people come to their senses!

By the time they come to their senses it might be too late to legally buy one. Better hang onto it. I know I am.

I have never seen cast bullets...why are they so cheap and what is the application? Are you talking about reloading bullets or ammunition?

Cast bullets are lead cast bullets. Bascially just lead bullets lubed with some sort of lubricant.

They are used for reloading ammo. I use cast .45 since the velocity of a .45 is much lower than most other ammo.
