IL: Bill in legislature to require $1M liability insurance

A bill in the Illinois legislature would require every owner of a firearm in the state to carry $1 million liability insurance for any willful or negligent harm caused by anyone using the weapon.
The firearm owner's liability would extend to anyone using the weapon, including a thief until such time as the owner reports the weapon stolen.

This bill probably will not make it into law, but this is what the long-suffering people of Illinois have to put up with.

The good news is that they are also considering a concealed-carry bill, which is also unlikely to pass.
