So I passed the CHL class, but i got my packet to send out but i have questions on the forms. The only form i have a question is the one about Criminal History.

I once went to they city jail because i was driving without a license. And also broke a car window but got probation for 6 months but was a Misdemeanor Class C or so.

My questions is since it says to send certificate copies of the disposition and all that.... Where am i going to get those forms and will that disqualify me from getting the CHL? If i don't send it would it be such a problem?

I REALLY NEED SOME HELP PLEASE!!

more will chime in but... was the one for the car window for Disorderly Conduct? If so, you will have a problem... also, what is the time frame on both items?

The court where you were convicted.

Maybe. What was the actual offense for the broken window?

Not a big problem. DPS will send you a letter telling you about the missing documents. Then you can get them and send them in. Then DPS will start processing your application. It shouldn't delay you more than a month or two extra compared to sending them with the original application. "rlol"

The actual offense you were convicted of will make a difference. The breaking a car window should have been a Class B misdemeanor for Criminal Mischief, but could have been charged other ways. The driving without a license is a class C ticket if you had no driver's license, but it was a Class B misdemeanor if it was actually driving on a suspended license.

Class C misdemeanors are only a problem in a few cases, such as disorderly conduct or assault family violence. Class B misdemeanors bar you for 5 years from the date of conviction, I think (someone will know the exact wording and time limit).

You need to check the exact offenses and disposition dates. With that information, DPS should be able to tell you if you qualify before you send the application in.

DPS can tell you if you will qualify if you can tell them the actual crime and the conviction date.
