I've heard good things about the new Springfield XD(M) pistols. I'm curious if anyone on the board has one, or has fired one.

Thanks!

There are a couple of threads on the XDm that may answer your question:

I have shot a couple of them and love the feel. In fact, it will probably be my next pistol purchase.

The only thing that I have to adjust is my shooting hand (right) thumb hold. I am used to my XD9 Service and the slide release is flat and I tend to have my thumb on it when shooting. On the XDm it is not flat (kind of triangular and sticks out) and it feels strange on my thumb. A minor change, but very noticeable for me.

I have a XD .45 and a XDM 9MM. They are both great guns. The best thing I like about the XDM is the interchangeable back straps,it makes it feel like 3 different guns. The match barrel and trigger system are very nice. You will not be dissapointed.

I got my XD(m)-40 the day they were announced at the shot show, and its one of the first 5k produced. I love it, and its been my carry weapon most of this week. For modifications, on the .40 model at least, I would recommend a Don's guide rod as it will reduce the felt recoil and the typical snappy-ness the .40 is so well known for. A word of caution regarding the Dons guide rod, some people with newer XD(m)s have noticed a change in the lug where the guide rod rests and has caused some issues (Don is aware of this and may have already corrected his product).

Just an update, I picked up my XD(M) in .40 S&W today. It's everything I hoped it would be!

Where can I get one of these guide rods? I'm also considering a trigger kit from Powder River Precision. http://shop.powderriverprecision.net/ca ... tegoryId=3

I ordered mine from xdguys.com and in my case it made a very significant difference. In fact I am planning on ordering one for my regular XD along with a 22lb spring.

I received my "Don's Guide Rod" yesterday in the mail and installed it in my XD-M. I haven't taken it to the range yet, but I'm looking forward to doing so to see how much of a difference it makes in muzzle flip.

I have the xdm .40 and the xd .40sc. I love both of these guns. The xd .40sc is a perfect carry gun and I shoot leauge and range play with the xdm. If only I could find some 40 s&w to shoot them more. :banghead:
