Glad to be carrying my .45 this morning

This morning I was taking one of my dogs for a walk around the neighborhood as I do every morning. I was almost home, but on the opposite side of the street from my house when I saw a boy and dog coming down the street towards me (they were on the opposite side of the street). Dog didn't have a leash on. I asked the boy if it was his dog, he shook his head no. But the dog was obviously following him. He said the dog had growled at him!

I looked more closely at the dog and realized it was 'the dog'. The dog that I've had 2 close calls with in the past year. And it was in my yard. I told the kid to be very careful around that dog and that the dog was violent and had attacked my dog before. At that point the dog was more interested in me and my dog and stopped following the kid. The kid went on to school, and I yelled at the dog to go home enough times that he turned around and went back towards his house. Was glad to have helped the kid out, but knew the dog running around was bad news and called 911 once I got in my house. They sent animal control out pronto. Animal control caught up with the dog down the street and made sure the dog made it home. They ticketed the resident (my neighbor 3 houses down).

I know I could handle the dog, but with the number of small children running around our neighborhood and the fact that the dog gets loose regular basis... the situation is pretty bad. The neighbor said they would be moving the dog out, but it hasn't happened yet.

Sounds like a potential situation for Fox Labs "stream" unit.

OC seems to work quite well for some, not so well for others. The last time I saw the last mutt I hit with it, he was many yards away, still trying to plow a furrow with his nose.

Me too, but I live about a mile from there now.

LCPD visited the neighbors for about half an hour the evening of the event.

Haven't seen the dog since, so maybe they finally moved it.

Greybeard, I too have seen the wonders of OC on dogs.

I got a vicious dog call once and went to the area where I was told and this dog came running up to my car. The neighbors were out and looked relieved when I drove up. The dog was barking and jumping on my window/door, so I rolled the window down when I had the chance and gave him an OC bath. He ran down the street trying to "plow a furrow" in the street along the curb.

I got out like a hero because I had saved the day, and the neighborhood was now safe for children and old ladies. 8) Everybody looked horrified and this one lady was almost crying. What's the problem I wondered. It was her dog that had been chased out of her backyard by the vicious dog--that was now in her backyard. I sprayed her dog  .

I almost wanted to laughed, but I knew that would certainly sink my ship, so I said I was sorry and called out the ACO for the vicious dog.
