A new study indicates the states with the most freedom are South Dakota, New Hampshire and Colorado, while Americans see the most complete government control of their personal lives in New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, California and Maryland.

"On personal freedom alone, Alaska is the clear winner, while Maryland brings up the rear. As for freedom in the different regions of the country, the Mountain and West North Central regions are the freest overall while the Middle Atlantic lags far behind on both economic and personal freedom," said the study, Freedom in the 50 States: Index of Personal and Economic Freedom...........................

This is just an excerpt from the article. You can click on the links in the article to see the study with all the charts and graphs.

Looked to me like TEXAS was about 5th freest over all. I'm not moving anywhere else! :txflag:

With our Federal Government running amok like it is these days...there is really no "freest" state!

The Federal Government can pretty much crush your freedom under its boot and there is NOTHING the state can do about it...

funny thing is about 90% of what the Fed does is truly UNCONSTITUTIONAL

Hence 9th and 10th amendment...we are all so concerned over the 1st and 2nd...we rarely read that far down the list!

Here I will help
# Ninth Amendment: declares that the listing of individual rights in the Constitution and Bill of Rights is not meant to be comprehensive; and that the other rights not specifically mentioned are retained by the people.

# Tenth Amendment: provides that powers that the Constitution does not delegate to the United States and does not prohibit the States from exercising, are "reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."

Hmmmm...go figure!

Our founding fathers meant for the "states" to be mini-countries, the people citizens of those countries and the states as a REPUBLIC told the Federal Government how to operate (NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND!!!)..as it stands now..we have an Oligarchy, rapidly spinning into a Socialist or even a loosely fit Communist state! Scary how things look when you step back and look at history then take a snapshot of "the big picture"

Believe it or not...if our founding fathers were alive they would be standing knee deep in a pile of spent casing...we "the people" have really let down our forefathers!

It just blows my mind to see what has, and is, happening to America. I started studying the Constitution after I read the book "The Founding Fathers and the 2nd. Amendment" and it is stunning to see how far we have strayed from the true meaning of the Constitution... we have turned into what our Founding Fathers fought to be free from!
