Just got in a new .223/5.56 lower from Tactical Machining out in Florida. Customer service was impressive and despite a large demand for their lowers and a busy, understaffed shop, they took the time to answer all my questions and offer additional information. I purchased the lower for $140 shipped (Glock Talk posted price....yes, I lurk over there) and arranged for a great local FFL in Plano for delivery. A week later it arrived. Machining is excellent and installing the parts kit was a snap. Took about 20 min to get it all together. I was told the first 300 or so lowers might have issues with the PMAGs. Sure enough, I have to send it back to get modified to fit PMAGs. ANyone using them may want to mention this when/if they order, but it seemed odd to me they would sell it with a known issue. Anyway, they offered the advice to modify my mag, the receiver or send it back. Since I'm not in a hurry I'm going to send it back on their dime and was told they would pay FFL fees. Thumbs up so far......lifetime warranty, great finish and so far, great customer service. Only issue with PMAGS is being fixed, so I've got nothing left to complain about. I was also told that .308 lowers might be available next month.

That's a nice looking lower, and you can't beat that price. I especially like the "Auto" setting on the safety. This will come in handy when the gun laws change in the year 2038.

Technically the laws will change @ 12:00 AM on January 1, 2039. It is a common mistake since the previous laws will expire on the last day of the year in 2038.

My bad. I was thinking of January 19th, 2038.

Did they happen to mention price for those .308 lowers?

The website is under construction and calling in has never been an issue so far. I always get a real person to pick up on the other end. Not sure what .308 lowers will go for yet. I need to find a good used upper that will fit my budget. Looking for one in the $400 range in the next month or so but I might break down and get a Rock River. Still undecided. I want this as a range beater and hunting rifle. Won't shoot it past 100yds probably.

Ok so I talked to a guy the other day who informed me they knew of the issue with some 300 or so lower receivers that would not lock up the PMAGs due to a minor machining flaw in the front of the magwell. Removing .003" would correct it and allow the PMAG to seat correctly. Well, I had sent an email to them previously and got a reply saying that they knew nothing of the problem and this is the first they've heard of it.



Ok, so it went back with a copy of the letter and a letter describing the conversation I had with the person. Hopefully between the two of them they can figure this out. Let you know how it turns out. So far I'm not so impressed and am experiencing a little buyers remorse. Shouldda gone with an Anvil Arms lower instead.

I don't know if this lower is machined to fit all the parts to convert to full auto? I could be wrong (probably) The selector does not pass the "fire" marking. I guess it's possible to have it switch to auto and have it operate in semi? I dunno, I never had a need for full auto, personally. I wasn't a huge fan of the 3 shot burst either. Guess I'm a single shot junkie. I do admit bump firing can be kinda fun. I rana CX4 in "full auto".......with a bump fire mechanism and that 30 round mag went QUICK!!! WIth todays ammo prices I want to enjoy every shot!

No email reply today. I'm thinking they're probably regrouping to gather their wits about now. We'll see........
