I'm in the market for one of these guns, but I'd like some pros and cons if you've got them to share.

Thanks,

I have owned two of these and they are great little guns. I am not a big fan of teh Heine straight 8 Sites but you get used to them pretty quickly

I have a first-gen and I think I am going to try and trade it for something else. I cannot hit a target with it no matter how hard I try. Others shoot it naturally. Nifty little gun but if I can't shoot it accurately, there is little point in owning it.

Add some cash to your stash and take look for something a little more upscale, like the Beretta PX4 Storm Compact, Walther PPS, etc.

If you insist on buying the Taurus, see if it is rated for all +P ammo. If there is a rating below the maximum energy level available over the counter, then consider if you want to run a gun with sub par ballistics. You're already losing three-quarters of and inch of barrel length.

Outside of the above, my 2nd Gen Mil Pro is a reliable feeder, shoots to POA under 21 feet and once broken in, has an SA trigger Glock would die for. The only thing missing is a decocker. Don't know if the 3rd Gens have corrected that deficiency, but they do have a DA/SA trigger, which is mo' better in my book.

Well I pulled the proverbial trigger and picked one up at the Pasadena gun show($345 out the door). I haven't shot it yet, maybe this weekend. It's SA/DA which seems like a strange concept to me (1st and 2nd Generations were DAO), I'm used to the old fashioned SA only (1911 style) and DA/SA (like my recently sold S&W 3913). I guess having multiple chances to fire a round if it doesn't fire the first time (without any further intervention except to pull the trigger again) is just odd; it should go bang the first time is my thinking, but I guess sometimes that just doesn't happen.

I've had one for about a year, it shoots POA at 15 yards. After the first 150 break in rounds no problems. Certainly most everything has to do with personal feel and how well it "fits" a particular person - this one sure does it for me and is my daily carry.

Hey Cain:

I owned a 3rd Gen Mil Pro PT111 in 9mm. I loved that gun, except one thing: magazines. They were so expensive, and when I am talking expensive, 40-50 was the cheapest range I found for them in my area... and online was not much help either. Holsters (until I came across CrossBreed) were pretty much non-existent... or custom. really the only con I can come up with. I sold it so I could purchase my wife a gun instead ... she didn't like the spring weight, but that is just cause she's a weenie sometimes.... she'lll grow out of that soon I hope!
