I bought a box of this yesterday after buying 4 boxes online from cabelas...while it is a nice round carrys alot of knock down power being a bonded hollow point. I just don't think it is worth paying over a dollar a round for....while they blew the hell out of my target posts at my personal range, they did not always expand which was a big disapointment.

I will try to get a pic of an expanded shell sometime in the future.

don't think the shells are supposed to expand. if they are, you might be having case failure, and that's an issue that can lead to bigger problems.

consider this, though, would you rather a bullet expand in a "target post" or after hitting tissue? some hollow points are "engineered" to go through wood (like in a door or wall) and only expand after going into tissue.

just my $.02 perspective.

Hydraulic pressure is generally necessary for proper expansion of jhp ammunition, not wood, sand dirt, etc

If you want to try an expansion test, fill about a dozen plastic milk jugs with water and carefully line them up in a convenient location to allow you to shoot mthrough as many full jugs as possible...then find the bullet to check for expanion
