Crimson Trace vs Armalaser - which do YOU prefer?

I am interested in getting a laser sight for an LCP. I have looked at the Crimson Trace http://www.crimsontrace.com/Home/Produc ... fault.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and the Armalaser http://www.armalaser.com/Products-Ruger_LCP.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.

I like the "finished" look of the Crimson Trace but not really the price. I also like the Armalaser "box end" look as I plan to CC in my front right pocket with a pocket holster. Price is better too.

Now the question - what is YOUR experience with either of these lasers? I have read that customer service for each company is well above par. But what about the products?

Thanks - and still searching for a Ruger LCP and .380 ammo in San Antonio :waiting:

I have the Armalaser On my Kel-Tec and really like it. They sent a pocket holster with it and it works really well. The laser was easy to install and is very solid and well built. Fully adjustable for windage and elevation. I have put approx 100 rounds through my Kel-Tec since the installation and have had no problems. I carry it in my front pants pocket daily. When it does "profile" it looks like a wallet (sitting down, crossed legs etc). I seem to be the only one who knows its there and thats the way I like it. Crimson Trace has a very good reputation and I am sure it is a good sight also, I just don't think it is as durable as the Armalaser. Check out the video on their website, that guy drops a Kel-tec with an Armalaser from a ladder onto a conrete floor 100 times from about 8-10 high. Sold me....and still happy after the sale. Hope my testimonial helps, good luck with whatever you decide to purchase.

I saw that video and it is impressive. I think the Armalaser squares off the barrel end nicely but it does have the Frankenstein appearance. How is the weight balancing? It is only a little over an ounce on a 10 oz gun. Did you have difficulty re-learning to fire on line with the added weight or was it little to no difference?

And thanks for your opinion.

Cabela's in Buda had 20 LCPs in stock Sunday evening. No ammo, though.

Doug,
I felt very little difference with the added weight of the laser. If anything it might have "tamed" a small amount of felt recoil. It does take up a little space between trigger and trigger guard. My hands and fingers are fairly large and it poses no problem for me. Also the "touch technology" is pretty cool, stick your finger inside the trigger guard and the laser comes on for about 12 seconds and then turns off, repeat as needed. It has a switch to turn it off completely. I kinda like (have got used to) the frankenstein look, it does not print a normal pistol image when in my front pants pocket. On the Crimson trace the button is glued (double sided tape) to the handle/trigger guard, I wonder how long that will hold up with daily carry in your pocket? Just something I thought about when making my decision.
Regards,Terry
