From one of the 'other' forums:

"On july the fourth, cut and paste the second amendment to a simple word document. mail it to every congressman, senator and the president. Do not add to it, do not inject your own opinion let the second do it's job as written. Contact every gun owner you know and get this one rolling. Contact the NRA and others. Move it or lose it."

I hate to point this out, but if the only thing that is done is to send the 2a with no opinion, the recipient will simply apply their own interpretation of the 2a to the message. If you send it to a 2a supporter, they will understand you want to protect the individuals right to bear arms. If you send it to a 2a "basher" (I can't think of a better word, im tired) then they will understand that you think the 2a does not apply to individuals.

Simply put, this cannot possibly work because the reader will apply their own "filter" to interpret the meaning of the message and will think you agree with whatever their personal bias to the issue is.

I think the Supreme Court settled that in Heller.

I agree with the post about sending the 10th, perhaps both

You might be right politicians tend read things with their own spin, but a message that is associated with the 4th of July should be pretty clear.

How about a pic of the Constitution and bill of rights, I can think of one they have not ignored at least half of.
One amendment or the other, I want them all followed to the T.
