I cleaned out Wal-Mart

Tonight I went to stock up on ammo for a camping trip out to some land on the Pecos River. My father-in-law leased the place until hunting season starts. It's 15,000 acres on 17 miles of the river. How's that for good shooting land?
I cleaned up at Wal-Mart, buying 500 rounds of 9mm WWB, just about taking everything they had in stock. There's really no point to this thread, except the incredibly good feeling you get when buying lot's of ammo at a time. Discuss.
I will be taking my Steyr M9 (500 rounds), SAR-1 (about 300 rounds), Mosin Nagant (80 rounds), and .22 (who knows how much). That ought to get me through the weekend. Not to mention the fishing.

Wal-mart can be "trained". Since, they have their on demand ordering system,. The system will acclimate to purchases like ""A case of 125 gr 9mm, a case of .380, and a case of 125 .38 special."
Now, as long as someone else doesn't come in and ask for my order, i'm ok.
Acadamey doesn't even blink when i ask for case lots.
You are right, though, it is very assuing to have plenty of ammo on hand, Especially, since i'm liable to go burn up a box whenever i feel like it.

With that much land it may be time to start thinking longer range/larger caliber!! A call to Ronnie Barrett may be in order.

Hahahahaaa! I thought I was weird for "hoarding" WWB from Walmart. I usually stop at any of the 6-7 Walmarts around me and buy anywhere from 6-10 boxes of 50 rounds. The $4.63 boxes that are cheaper than buying their 100 round "Value pack" for $11.98.
As posted here somewhere, Academy will price-match Walmart so that is an option if the Walmart(s) near you are out of 9mm WWB.

But did the ask you if you were going to fight a war?
My father-in-law and I got that line one time at Wal-Mart.
Funny part was we only bought 300rds between us and it was just ammo for the day
I didn't mention to the clerk how much I had at home.
500 rounds???

Yup, that WAS the price for the Blazer aluminum cased 9mm stuff for a while. But that has now gone
up to the mid $4 range in SA. Are you still getting it for $3.86? If so, where?
Kind Regards,
Tom

I usually order my ammo from Natchez, but I need to start doing some comparison pricing. I do like having it delivered right to my door. Its a lot easier to handle than 20 50 round boxes in a wal-mart bag..
Blazer @ Academy

I have not purchased any in awhile. I did not know the price had increased.
It is dirty but you cannot re-load for that.

Academy quoted me 9mm 115 gr yesterday $5.9x ...justy under $6 per 50 rnd box of WWB.... They told me a close branch that they don't do case discounts any more....?
Wal-Mart was still selling their WWB 100 for around $11.87 or close...
Bass Pro was selling RFemington in the Grapevine store for bel. it was $5.77 a 50 box....bought 10 in heartbeat...
