Please keep the Temple PD SWAT officer who was shot during a narcotics rade this morning in your prayers. The SWAT team was conducting a raid for a narcotics search warrant in a local apartment complex. As they breached the front door to the apartment, the resident (suspect named in the warrant) was seated in the front room with a weapon in hand. He immediately fired, striking the lead officer in the arm. Officers returned fire, striking the suspect in the chest as well as a female in the leg. All three are being treated at Scott & White hospital in Temple, the Officer and female in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries and the suspect with what was reported as serious life threatening injuries. Texas Rangers and TPD are investigating the incident.
Please keep the officer, department, and their families in your prayers, and don't forget about the suspect and the female as well. Thanks guys.
BTW, this is the first time in over 20 years that a TPD officer has been involved in a shooting.
