Denton Pizza Man robbed at gunpoint

On or about Thursday night, 4/2/09, a driver from the Pizza Hut store
on University Avenue (US 380) was dispatched to a delivery.
Upon arriving, a lone gunman ran up behind him and put a handgun directly to
his head. Give me all your money.
When the driver handed over the princely sum of $40 the robber said "Don't
look at me. You're lucky to still be alive." Then he ran away. No vehicle or
accomplices were seen.
Unfortunately I got this story 3rd hand. They don't have a description of the
perp, but he did speak English without a foreign accent. The Denton police
took the report, but they don't really have anything to go on.
Had this driver been a CHL holder, I believe he could have drawn on the robber and
even shot him, but the GG would have to wait until the BG started to leave before going
for his gun. It's tough to draw on a drawn gun.
A manager at the Pizza Hut store was fired for not following security procedures. All new
customers are to be called and must re-state their address to the store person. Of course
when a bad guy gives the address he wants the victim to go to, he'd remember that, but he
would usually give a bad phone number. When the verifying phone number turns out to be
bogus, the driver will not be dispatched to that location.
Anyone in Denton - please be alert to this situation.
