S&W M-27 & CHL

I am very fond of my 1911s for concealed carry but have recently been looking at revolvers. I am smitten with a S&W Classic M-27 (.357 Mag) with a 4" barrel but am concerned about concealing it. I normally carry either a Combat Commander or New Agent IWB in a Milt Sparks VM-2 (one for each pistol) and haven't had any concealment issues. Although I don't think the M-27 will be my primary carry weapon, I'd like it to always be an option and am concerned about concealing it. Although I'd probably go ahead and get another VM-2 for the M-27, I'd like to get an OWB holster for the interim.

I'd appreciate any comments from anyone with experience carrying something similar to the M-27 either IWB or OWB before I pull the trigger, so to speak, and drop the cash on the gun.

While I am here, I'd like to thank all of the ladies and gentlemen out there for the incredible amount of information I have gained by virtue of keeping up with this forum. Thanks, as well, to the moderators and others to maintain the decorum and keep this site such a valuable asset to our shooting and CHL community.

See if you can conceal a 6-ounce can of tomato paste, because that's about the size of the cylinder and frame of an M27 (1.75 inches diameter).

The grips of revolvers are easier to conceal than the grips of auto-loaders, which tend to be longer and thicker. The cylinder diameter is the main challenge.

Also, N-frame revolvers are pretty heavy, around 3 pounds. Some people care more about weight than others.
