Mod 36 with custom grips

I picked up these grips from ladromar yesterday in Plano and I was originally buying them to go on my 642. But when I got home, I thought they would look much better on my Mod 36 and here they are.

These are interesting grips. I have not seen them elsewhere. They are Cocobolo and have the S&W Logo embedded into them. They are also similar to stock rubber grips in that they leave the backstrap open (not covered like most other larger Custom wood grips).

I really like the look of them on the 36 and wanted to share with ya'll! BTW, this Mod 36 is a 1982 vintage!

The 642 will just have to keep the rubbers on! :smilelol5:

Thanks ladromar! :tiphat: :cheers2:

VERY nice and practical...a rare combination.

btw: Have you tried using Flitz on the frame? It made mine look like a mirror.

No I haven't. I may give it a try as I do have some that I use on my Stainless Exhaust pipes on my Mustang.

The pistol does have a few fine marks on it as you have seen. Yours looks great and I like those grips too. Yous also has the pinned barrel that mine does not.

I dumped those grips because my wife shoots it and the checkering was too rough on her hands.

Tried about four different grips and finally settled on these:

Not nearly as pretty, but the wife sure shoots better with them.

That looks mighty good! :thumbs2:

I have a model 36, however, it has the square butt and I can not get the TCT grips for it. I have had it for a long time, also. I bought it in the late 70's and it has been my trusty partner every since.
