Thanks to all of those who helped answer my questions a few months ago - http://www.texasshooting.com/TexasCHL_F ... light=ar15

I just finished assembly last week, and hope to get it sighted in tomorrow.

Congrats!! She's a beaut!!

I bought the exact same model (flat top, flash suppressor...) but a Bushmaster, just one week ago today.

It gives me a warm feeling all over....

Enjoy

Very nice! I can't wait to join the club, I'm just waiting on an assembled upper from RRA to complete mine. Enjoy shooting that fine rifle

Nice rifle. Looks like your going to have some fun.

BTW, interesting pics. What are the details on the second pic? Was it photoshopped?

Yes, I used PaintShop Pro to alter that image. I like the soft look it gives.

Just got back from the range and had a great time. My wife was very hesitant to shoot it at first because it looks scary and was afraid it was going to hurt. She took the first shot and got a little smile on her face. She likes shooting it a lot.

Also she got to shoot my RIA .45 for the first time, and of course, now she wants that as "her" gun instead of the Walther P99 (which she previously adopted as "her gun"). As long as she enjoys going with me and shooting, she can have whatever gun she wants.

Enjoy your latest addiction.

BTW, I am jealous of you. Trying to get my wife to shoot is like pulling teeth with tweezers.

I'm sure once the kids are a little more grown and are able to stay by themselves it will be a bit easier and she will be more receptive.

Congrats on the new toy. That is a great picture. nice job.

Congratulations, it is beautiful! You will certainly enjoy shooting it.

And +1 about your wife liking it. When I built my 16" collapsable-stock "kitten gun" it was partly that the AWB had expired, and partly that with the stock in the middle position, it would be perfect size for my wife.

She is just not interested. She shot my mini-14 pretty well years ago (sold it becase it was not very accurate), and she knows how to load and chamber the AR - so if she needs it, she can work it; but I envy you that you and your wife can enjoy going to the range together.

Use that AR in good health!

Regards,
Andrew
