I'm getting a Saiga 12 either when prices come down or when I have enough cash lying around. Anyone have any reasons why I shouldnt?

Oh yeah.
Like someone here is actually going to try to talk you of getting a firearm?

Not really, but I do have a "devil's advocate" question. . .
Even though the Saiga is based on the reliable AK platform, wouldn't an old fashioned pump shotgun be even more reliable? After all, you're not likely to be using a Saiga 12 for anything other than self-defense. I'm just sayin'. . .

There's a couple of em here at the local shop.
I don't like the look of em. My 590 holds 9 shots and cost half as much.

Well, apparently we can't, because your topic tile is 'My Mind is set.'
I say if you have the money, buy what you want, and that is a good choice.

The prices haven't really "gone up" for Saiga 12s...not that I have noticed. My dad finally broke down and got one a few months ago and the price had maybe gone up $50 since when they first started becoming popular. Its when they are converted to a more AKM set-up (collapsible stock, vented handguard, pistol grip, etc.) that they start getting $$$. So I say go for it when you got the cash. I have yet to shoot dad's but it sure is sweet. The magazines are killer on the wallet though. $40-60 for 10-12 rounders
