I finally joined the club!

No, not the CHL. I'm already a member of that. This last year I've witnessed a significant change with respects to firearms and that has been a bit of a slap in the face. Never have I realized how much we have to fight to retain the basic rights described in the 2nd amendment. Far too long have I just let other gun owners share the responsibility of fighting for our rights, and supporting institutions that do. So with that I finally joined the NRA. I bought a 5 year membership as a starting point. Oddly, I got a better feeling of gratification of joining the NRA than I did when I got my CHL. With the CHL, this was more focused around a fullfilling a personal responsibility. With joining the NRA I have more of a feeling of upholding my civic responsibility, knowing that group fights for the rights we cherish so much.
While I know that not every gun owner agree's completely with the NRA, I do find that they are a monumental presence in Washington and are are staunch supporters of our 2nd Amendment rights. At this point in time, I feel like they are the best representatives for the movement and thus is where I need to be focusing my money.
When I free up some extra cash, joining the TSRA is next on my agenda. I am ashamed to admit that it took me so long to join a gun rights group. I only hope that others who are not a member of SOME organization wake up and see that they need to join. The cost of the membership is little to nothing. You'll shoot more in ammo in a day at the range that it will cost you for an annual membership for a year. In the end, there really was no excuse for not being a member. Everyone on this board should be a member.
PS. Why I posted this in the CHL forum, is it wasn't until I received my CHL that I really became aware of the need to join the NRA. After receiving the CHL and researching was it that I saw how passionately groups are fighting against people being able to arm themselves. So, because of my CHL is why I am now an NRA member.
