Anyone else watch America's Most Wanted on the gun-running?

So I'm watching America's Most Wanted, and they're doing a special tonight on how Mexican cartels get weapons and ammunition from the US via straw purchasers.

Anyways, it's just more of the same misleading by media, making people think that the cartels get fully automatic weapons and grenades from the US. sigh...

The kicker is John Walsh says he's a law abiding gun owner, supports RKBA, but somehow allows the misleading report to be put out on his show.

Unfortunately, there are MANY who own firearms, support their understanding of the 2nd Amendment and believe virtually all of the tripe put out by the media. Gun owners cover the full range of political beliefs. It's very frustrating to have a pleasant conversation with someone about firearms and then have them go off on a tangent about "assault weapons" or something else they heard on NPR. Jim Zumbo's infamous editorial was a great example of this phenomena.

I saw it last night and was shocked that Walsh would do that. Having worked in two gun shops, we went out of our way to not allow straw purchases. Showing full auto is disgraceful.

:iagree: with all of the above. The sad part is this type of story may result in "America's Most Wanted" becoming less effective catching BGs. GGs [like us] won't be phoning in tips because we will stop watching the show as long as John Walsh keeps airing this type of anti-gun tripe. His comment about "I own a gun and I am a hunter" was condescending. Of course, I am prejudice.

Do you have a link to that article? I kinda read the history on it from a quick Google search, but couldn't find the original article, only editorials responding to his editorial.

John Walsh is strongly anti-CHL, or any citizen carry for that matter. I have sympathy for his loss, but I have absolutely no use for the man. I'm tired of him using his notoriety as a bully-pulpit against lawful citizen carry. BTW, he also was awarded by the Brady Campaign. http://www.bradycenter.org/donate/events/2007/la/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Thanks Chas, that makes a lot more sense. I couldn't understand how he'd claim to be pro-RKBA and yet put out that hugely misleading show.
