DILEMMA

I might move out of Texas. I am not sure at this point but our employment location might change to another state. I am scheduled to take my class this Sunday. If I get my permit what other states acknowledge it?
I am thinking about seeing if it is to late to get a refund and play it by ear.

Thanks! BSB

This is the reciprocity map from packing.org. I would suggest reading the current law at the time of your move to make sure it is correct.

So if I move to a state that has reciprocity would my lisense be good until it expired? Then would I take a renewal or have to start over?

Confused! BSB

When you move out of state, you need to update your address with the DPS. At that time, your license changes from a "resident" license to a "non-resident" license. It will still be good until the expiration date, at which time you will need to take a renewal class in Texas to get it renewed. And, if you give up your Texas driver's license, you will have to get a Texas ID card issued by the DPS.
