Woman Shoots 2 In Home Invasion
Deputy Constables: Teen Claimed They Were 'Victims'
SPRING, Texas -- A woman opened fire when two people broke into her Spring home on Sunday, KPRC Local 2 reported.
Harris County Precinct 4 deputy constables said the 34-year-old was alone inside the home in the Timberlane subdivision on Briarcreek Boulevard near Cades Cove Drive at about 6 a.m.
Investigators said the woman opened fire when the attackers burst through her bedroom door.
Both attackers were wounded. Detectives said the attackers, identified only as teenagers who live in the neighborhood, ran out of the home and called for help, claiming to be the victims of a shooting.
...
I suppose the little "Fine Upstanding Citizens" feel victimized by the awful gun wielding resident because she interrupted their rape/burglary plans by shooting them.

"Residents said the attack was too close to home for their comfort, and they're considering arming themselves for protection.
"We've discussed it with all the girls out here in the neighborhood," resident Rhonda Potenza said. "We're going to get gun safety courses … we've got to do what we've got to do." "
Exactly! If THAT'S not a good reason to be armed for SD, I don't know what is. That brave woman should go to D.C. to testify in Congressional hearings on gun control. I'd even chip in to help pay her way....all expenses paid. I hope the NRA and TSRA gets wind of this story.
Good story. Thanks for posting. Please post any follow ups you see/hear/read on this.

And when the class gets started, have that same news team to do a follow up story on how the class came about, and have them interview the instructor on the advantages of getting a CHL and gun safety classes. Maybe even a discount for the victim of the home invasion? Or even all the ladies in that group?
Wouldn't that be nice? Pro-gun news stories for a change.

A positive news story like this and the ensuing publicity would be priceless in our support for 2A. Just my opinion.
C.V. you'd be perfect for the job! Perfect!

The homeowner here used outstanding defensive tactics, taking a position of advantage and forcing the bad guys to enter the "fatal funnel" at the bedroom door before engaging them. By locking the bedroom door, she also created a situation where the intruders were forced to create physical evidence of their violence and apparent life threatening intent before deadly force was used to extremely good effect (3 rounds fired, 2 attackers hit). There won't be any need to guess at missing information from videotapes (a la the robbery victim pharmacist case) on this one.
Results like this don't happen by accident. This woman was prepared, had a plan, and carried it out well under extremely stressful circumstances. Her actions protected her from what would have been a violent and quite possibly fatal attack.
Kudos to her and her family for making the effort to formulate a plan, and to her for executing it with courage and skill. She should be seen as a role model for women everywhere.

I should add that she is a great role model for us guys as well.
A lot of guys will give up the tactical advantage of a solid defensive position to search for and attempt to engage intruders, which is a really dicey proposition without lots of backup, or at very least a tailgunner.
This lady kept her cool and waited for them to come to her, preserving the element of surprise and allowing her to fire from the best position of cover. The results speak for themselves.

Sent this to family in Houston. My mother informed me that this is same neighborhood where my step-dad used to live (yikes). Anyway, this has certainly got me interested in the story. Here are photos of the two punks from Houston Chronicle web site ...
