husband back in the hospital - UPDATE

Steve was released to return to work this week, but Wed. morning he started to feel the onset of the same symptoms that happened right before his stroke. His boss called me, & his co-workers took him directly to the ER. Blood pressure was brought back under control quickly, but they decided to admit him & keep him overnight for observation.
This morning, the cardiologist ordered a cardiac catheterization to check the condition of his heart & arteries and I thank God he did. The test showed 3 arteries of the heart had an over 80% blockage. They were able to clear them out and put stents in place immediately. Potential heart attack forestalled for now.
So we're back in ICU for the time being, and it's debatable as to whether Steve will get to go home tomorrow or Saturday. I'm not holding my breath either way - I want him to stay here until the docs are comfortable that he's at a point where he'll do better at home.
Please continue to pray for Steve, including a prayer of thanks for the "episode" yesterday morning that landed him at the hospital again. Without that, we might not have found out about the blockage before it became 100% critical.

UPDATE 26 JUNE 2009 21:10
The cardiologist and internist agreed that Steve could return home this afternoon. Dosage on a couple meds has been tweaked, and a couple new meds added to help protect his heart.
Steve is exhausted but looking so much better, and relieved to be home. If no further complications manifest over the next few days, he has a followup with the family doc in 1 week and with the cardiologist within 2 weeks.
And this time, he's staying HOME for a full week. No pushing the doc to let him return to work in "a day or two."
May God bless the staff at Sierra Providence East.
And may God bless all of you for your prayers. Thank you!
