Ok I inherited these firearms from my grandfather when he passed back in '97 and recently was able to get them and need help identifying them, I know a little about them but now much, any help is appreciated.

Note: this isn't my in the pictures it's my mom's husband modeling for me lol

The first is a rifle from the 19th century from what I can tell (1800's) and it's a 30/30

this rifle is another 30/30 I have no info about, but it's a round barrel and not an octogon like the other one, this was my grandfather's I believe

Yeah that's the main one I was wondering about the other ones I'm sure I can figure out but I didn't see anything of help on the dang thing

I count 9 holes in that revolver.

H&R made several 9 shot 22 revolvers.

Any markings on frame or barrel for any of the guns?

There was on the pistol (i think) and the older 30/30 but I'm not sure what they were off the top of my head I'll have to look next time I'm at my parents as I don't have a gun safe big enough for the rifles

I'll take a stab at them. Note: With only 1 or 2 pics of the octagonal barreled lever action, I could be off by miles and miles. But it appears to be an 1892 Winchester in either 32 W.C.F.(32-20) or 25 W.C.F.(25-20). There should be some identifying markings on the left side of the barrel below the rear sight. Also, it should show the model number on the metal backstrap to the rear the hammer...toward the buttstock. Some close up pics would be nice of the backstrap and below the rear sight on the left side.

The 8 shot revolver? This is reallllyyyyyy getting out of my area of knowledge, but it MAY, repeat MAY, be an older Iver Johnson, maybe an Iver Johnson Target Mod.57 8 shot. I've seen 8 shot revolvers before, but that was back in the 60's when I was a kid. (that would be 1960's if you please! lol). Again there should be some sort of identifying markings on it.

The round barreled lever action? It could be any of a number of Winchester lever actions. Gosh It may not even be a Winchester at all! But the 1894 was the most common of all the round barrel Winchester lever actions, that saw production from 1894 all the way up to the 60's(I think).

Without more close up pics, it's anyone's guess as to what they might be. The one that interests me the most is the octagonal lever action. IMHO that would have the most collector value. Octagonal barrel lever actions were not that common.

Wish I could be of more help, but without close up pics, it's impossible to narrow it down.

Boomerang is correct. Harrington & Richardson made 9 shot revolvers. It may be a H&R 922:

JC Higgins also made a 9 shot revolver. The model 88. It had a swing out cylinder:

Swing out nothing, with this revolver the whole cylinder comes off the gun when you pull out that pin thing at the front of it (not sure what it's called)

The rifle may be an earlier Winchester, but I don't believe it's a '96. The side port is the wrong shape.

Does the finger lever pivot on a point? (Henry) Or does it move the hammer block down visibly? (Win)

I'm not an expert, so take my opinions with the appropriate amount of salt.

I don't know where you live but if it's anywhere close to College Station,TX you might want to visit the Metsinger (not sure if that's spelled right) Collection at Texas A&M University. This gun collection which is located on the third floor of the Memorial Student Center (MSC) is open to the public whenever the MSC is open which is almost always.

Anyway there is one of almost every gun Winchester, S&W and Remington ever made in the collection along with an incredible selection of guns from all over the world. It is worth the drive from Houston if you've never been there before. I used to know how many thousand guns are in the collection back when I was a student there but that's been a long time ago. But what I was getting at is that you could probably find ones in the collection just like the ones you have and get a first hand positive identification.

What made me think of this is the octigon barrel Winchester. There are two of the Winchester '73 rifles with 1of 1000 engraved on their octigon barrels. On one of them it is written in script "one of one thousand" and the other is simply "1 of 1000". Each is an example of only a handful known to exist and both are in near mint condition as are all the guns in the collection.

I can't help you with the pistol as I cannot read the description in the pic. Sorry.

But you do have an 1892 Winchester.....still don't know the caliber. That would be below the rear sight area.

1,004,675 Model 1892 rifles were made by Winchester which was phased out of production around 1931. So to tell you when it was made we need a serial number.....IF there are production figures published on the internet. You could probably call Winchester and find out though.
