Hey guys, out looking for my rifle, the vid is pretty much self explanatory. Please keep an eye out.

Aaron, it makes me sick someone stole your rifle.

A great descriptive video of the gun. 22-250 is not a common caliber and it is a readily identifiable rifle. I hope that it is recovered soon and you get it back quickly.

Sorry you had to join under such circumstances, but welcome to the forum. There's a lot of forum members in North Central Texas that will be on the lookout for it.

Great idea!

Best part:

"And to whoever stole it..."

Here's another idea. Cell Phone (iPhone, Blackberry, whatever) page or app for the site (mobile.stolenweapon.com?) where you can just enter a serial number, or partial serial number, to search a database of reported stolen guns!

Ideally, a Picture for visual confirmation, serial number, and phone number to contact would pop up from this 'search'

I know that I'd use it in a second, buying something used.

"hang on a sec bud... email from the wife"
*types in serial number, comes up Hot*...
"hang on.. gotta call her for a sec."
*walks away*
"hello, sheriff?..."

I appreciate the positive support here. Many of our submissions have came from Texas and not supriingly since you guys are a strong " gun state". My local sheriff told me at the time of theft that if my gun didn't show up in a drug raid sometime it was doubtful that I would ever see it again. ( He is %100 supportive of this site though ) There really wasn't any way to get the word out to the gun community that it was stolen so,................here we are. Thanks again.

This is a really neat idea...

Considering the massive and active participation and personal interaction we have between the members here, this just makes sense...

We network about every other thing in our community, why not this???

Sure does make everyone think about jotting down those serial numbers, take a few digital pics...And squirrel that info away somewhere safe for just such a situation...

I just watched the vid again, and noted the serial number, make and model...I will certainly make an effort to look around a little closer at the tables at the next few gunshows in Houston/Pasadena in the next few weeks...We have quite a few coming up on into August...

An absolute great idea. Never crossed my mind when I had a gun stolen several years back. Good luck and thanks for the post. :thumbs2:

Wow.....very nice.

I love the idea, my employer had a pistol and a long gun taken from his truck in Plano months ago.

I'm going to spread the link around a bit. :thumbs2:

No problem at all man. This, amongst other threads that I've read on this board, has prompted me to record all my serial numbers. I've always meant to, but never gotten around to it. But, today, when I get home, I'm going to be all over it.

Even better, do that, AND make a free iphone app for it!

Stolen Firearm? There's an app for that!
