Fiesta posting illegal and incorrect sign

The Fiesta at Fondren&West Belfort has a sign posted claiming it is illegal to carry a gun on the premisses where alcohol is sold or consumed - period! The sign claims that this is a felony, but cites no law to back it up. First of all, the sign is not a legal sign. Second, Fiesta is not a 51% establishment. Third, the is no law that says you can't carry a gun with a license in a supermarket. The sign in question makes no mention of a license at all. This is pure bull! :rules:

If I'm not mistaken, if it's one of those signs that say the "unlicensed possession of firearms" with a mention of a felony/or a $10,000 fine, it's a sign that they post up on any establishment that sells alcohol. Regardless, if it's not a 30.06 and the place is not a legitimate 51% establishment, ignore and carry away.

sounds like the unlicensed possession sign.
But if its not I don't think it is illegal to post a sign that is a total bull, perhaps you meant unenforceable instead of illegal.
And lastly who cares, go ahead and carry, assuming your in compliance with the law (not a felon, has CHL, no valid 30.06, ect.).

Yeah, I guess "unenforceable" would be a better word rather than "illegal". It just annoys me that merchants will pull this crap. :rules:

The sign is neither illegal nor unenforceable. If is the "unlicensed possession of a firearm", there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. The key word is "UNLICENSED". If you have a CHL, you have a license and therefore it does not apply to you. If you don't have a CHL, then it is illegal to carry a concealed weapon, in the store or anywhere else. That exact sign is posted at a large number of stores, not just Fiesta.
