When are parents going to learn to teach their kids gun safety, even if they don't own one.

Time it was taught in schools IMHO....'cept of course we know it won't be because of the anti-gun liberals.

When are grown ups going to learn that they need to keep their guns out of the hands of kids.

My kids can recite Eddie Eagle and they practice safety with me (currently at the airsoft stage) but I would NEVER leave one of my guns in a place where they could look at it without me present. My daughter is 9 and she has held my gun, but never even seen it when it was not in my control, same for my 6 year old son. Guns need to be locked up when they are not in your control, every time.

That is my responsibility as a gun owner and a grown up.

100%....but I still think schools should teach gun safety too.....and from the way things look, some adults need a reminder too.

I don't think i am that old born in 1973 but when i was 14 my mom gave consent for me to take a hunters safety Class at School and i think that most of my class took this. But hey they used to do a lot of things in school they don't now. It is sad that this has happened but ultimately there is no one to blame but the parents for not teaching there kids that if its not yours don't touch it, and if you would like to Handel something ask. My kids are this way and i feel confident that if one of there friends came over and was rummaging through my house they would be asked to leave.

I agree that every child should have some Eddie Eagle type of training, but the reality is that they don't. This kind of thing happens about once a day in the U.S. (not always with fatal results).

It's important to keep in mind that an order of magnitude more children are killed and injured by accidental drowning, burns, and poisoning -- nearly all preventable.
