 I pulled a STUPID. All morning I was trying out a Comp-Tac c-tac holster that a friend lent me. Well I couldn't get it to work and put on my other Comp-Tac holster to go hang out at the gun shop. About half way there I reached down to adjust the gun and felt a big empty space where the magazine should have been. A whole slew of things that wouldn't pass the 10 year old daughter rule. :bigmouth :bigmouth :bigmouth

Boy am I glad that I didn't need my gun. Good thing I had the Kel-Tec in the front pocket.

A quick gear check before leaving home is a good idea. I've come close to leaving home with an empty gun but so far I've caught it before opening the door. I've heard of people leaving home wearing an empty holster too.

I bought a second hand Glock 22 from a guy last year. He had put the extended magazine release on it.

When I wore it on the left side, the holster released the magazine. Twice.

The first time, I saw the magazine on my seat in the pickup when I returned to the truck. The second time, it didn't come all the way out before I noticed it.

I immediately ordered some parts and installed a standard magazine release for this gun.

I usually forget the targets :(

Biggest "ut oh" for me was one day I unholstered my gun after getting home from work. When I have my gun, there is always a round in the chamber. Thats just what I do. Safety on, bullet in chamber. Imagine my surprise when I pulled the slide back to clear it and found... no round.

While I don't have my CHL yet, home and work are covered under ownership, and the rest of it is pretty much Travelling.

I always press check before walking out of the door, and that includes a magazine slap, but mistakes happen to us all. Better that than a ND.

A reminder to you Glockers, be sure to tap the rear of the slide forward after you press check, I have seen many not go alll the way into battery if the slide is released too slowly. ;-)

I wouldn't worry about it... I was talking to a cop a while back who had done the same thing... talk about a red face...

Just learn from it...
