No. I prefer to socialize in the big blue room.

I do, quite a bit. Gotten in touch with high school friends I haven't seen in almost 30 years and people I worked with in Korea going back over 20 years. Great tool as long as you avoid all the silly "what is your color" quizzes.

I'm on LinkedIn but I don't have time for Facebook or MySpace. I created accounts on all three when I was in graduate school - back when Facebook required an edu email address. I lost interest in MySpace fairly quickly because of the near-zero signal and high noise. I kept up on Facebook for a bit but eventually lost interest and forgot my password.

You can give it a try and if you like it that's great. If not, it's easy enough to forget passwords. ;-)

I do also. It's one more way of keeping in touch with friends & family. I like the customizable privacy settings, & the fact that I can block out a lot of the frivolous polls / games / memes. It ain't perfect but I like it a lot better than MySpace.

I don't have one. The closest to a Face Book or My Space is this SPACE!

My facebook network is comprised mainly of the following groups:

1) People I looked up or added as a consequence of finding them being a friend of someone I looked up in this network (High School, College) After the initial add and may a "hey, long time.. " back and forth I don't talk to them much afterwards if at all.

2) Select few from work. As you can tend to air dirty laundry on there I don't necessarily want everyone in the office seeing me posting it.

3) Political people I meet at rallies. This is probably the bulk of my feed updates.

4) "Real" friends, (not that there is no intersection between this one and the above) but I'm usually in more direct contact either by phone, email, or IM than communicating through FB

I used to have myspace but I haven't logged in or even thought about that for months until now.

(and i must admit my recent guilty facebook pleasure is mafia wars, i'm about level 110 or so)

A personification of websites I recently saw. Not that I completely agree but think it's funny because probably fairly accurate.

:iagree:

Old acquaintances do come out of the woodwork - including some you wish would not!

I did not know you could block the silly quizzes. Gotta do that.

I am on there, use it all the time. Check it several times a day. Same for my wife, kids, and just about everyone I know (plus 200+ other "friends" that I don't really know that well). I also use Twitter regularly. It's just a handy way to communicate in a sort of community fashion.

Definite Facebook junkie here.

Found a lot of my old Army bro's and people I went to school with. I have it set up to where NO ONE can find me by searching my name or email even.

I like it a lot.

Facebook can be an incredibly useful tool helping you keep in touch with friends and family across the world... it can also be a ridiculous time-waster detracting from real relationships. When you spend more time with 'electronic' relationships than 'live' ones, something might be wrong.

Having said that, I'm on FB. Have over 250 friends. I block status updates on some of them, and all the silly quizzes/ games. I have family 2,500 miles away, and it's hard to call them all the time, so seeing some news on FB helps.

FB has a lot more older (read: mature adults) people than MySpace.

LinkedIn is more of a professional, career site. It's a great resource. If anyone would like to add me on LinkedIn, feel free to PM.

Best wishes sorting it all out!

Easiest way I have found to keep up with the family and friends. Easily post pictures, etc. Can become a time consumer, but you control when you go to the site. It has its uses for me.

I didn't have one for a long time, but finally started one to keep up with the blogging for my daughter's church choir tour and mission trips. Once I started looking at friends, I found my best friend from grade school. He lived just a couple of blocks from me and we were inseparable through about age 15. We drifted a little different directions in high school, but were still friends. Hadn't seen him in almost 30 years now. I always knew he would end up in a music career, and as expected he lives in Branson and is the keyboard player and a vocalist for one of the country music shows. Lots of other acquaintances on there too. I don't post a lot, but do follow my friends wall posts.

The county political party I am affiliated with wants us to start working up a Facebook page...And after looking at what it can do for us, I have my reservations, simply because of the time you may have to spend after getting it going to keep maintaining it...They are also wanting candidates and other elected officials to do this as well...

I see this as something that will begin to take up a lot more of your time, as your Facebook page develops...Like I said, I have my reservations...And I am still looking into it...

I see myself possibly having two pages setup...One for the position I have in the party, and the other for personal use...I do not see how I can filter or setup one page to do both, if I have to...If anything I may reside myself to only having one for the office I (and many others I know) hold...

I dig it. it really is a good way to keep in touch with folks and they have a lot of granular control over who you allow to see what and what you allow to show up for yourself. I've found a lot of old friends and even family I had lost touch with and now keep in regular contact.

Well, see my sig line in fact :)
