Thanks for the links. I was a newspaper journalist for 10 years and this kind of thing DISGUSTS me. It is HIGHLY unethical to edit an image in that way to "fit your story". MSNBC should be ashamed.

I agree, but they aren't. They embarrass themselves daily, displaying such poor journalism tactics. I think it is because they are making a feudal attempt at gaining viewer's. People are leaving them in droves as their news source and their Neilson ratings are dropping like a rock, BECAUSE of this type of yellow journalism. Unless they clean up their act, they might find themselves in the position of losing so much advertising dollars, they may have to cease operations.

News in general in this country is in a sorry state. There's only one outlet I trust, and that's NPR. Their weekend entertainment shows all have an obvious liberal bias.
Having said that, their weekday reporting is pretty honest. I find even stories that have an honest bias will attempt to discuss the other side of an issue without scorn or ridicule.
Their coverage of gun related stories has improved drastically. I also find that NPR is the most responsive to listener criticism since half of their funding comes directly from listeners.

It's funny, I'll watch MSNBC because Keith Olberman amuses me, same reason I watch Glenn Beck. Usually I can watch either of them for about 25 mins before wanting to throw something at them.

I can't watch either stations news coverage at all, though. I get about 5 mins into any story and want to shoot someone in the face with a bazooka.

NBC pioneered the technique on Dateline with the exploding gas tanks story. Ashamed? It doesn't phase them in the least. I, too left the craft when I realized a dyed in the wool heterosexual like me wasn't going to get very far in an industry top heavy with homosexuals.

They're working hard to make old school Pravda seem moderate and unbiased.

I'm the same way about NPR. I listen to it daily. their coverage is first class. The bias shows through every now and then.
Most of it is neutral. But at least one story per day comes through with a left-wing sneer you can hear through the speakers. Happens often enough to stop me sending them money.

The news media has become nothing more than an echo chamber, giving us nothing be celebrity nonsense and reporting about competing news media. I can't remember the last true investigative piece I consumed.

MSNBC is Leftists just like every broadcast and news channel to include FOXNEWS who is the least of the propagandist for the Left.

Nitrogen, I have not listened to NPR in some time but when I did it was controlled by leftist and every story they had was about how bad some Conservative or conservative ideal (philosophy of literal interpretation of the COTUS) was. I will check them again because of your post. My issue is that I think since every news source is so bias that any reflection of fairness, like on FOXNEWS, seems fair to conservatives. I do not believe for one second that NPR is or will remain unbiased but I will take another look at them with an "open mind". Thank you for your post.

I really believe that we find the MSM so bad today, because we have so many options today. It use to be in a time not so long ago we only had a couple of sources of information today we have the internet, and talk radio, several 24 hour news sources. While many of these sources are biased, it isn't difficult to understand the biases and weigh the value of them as we attempt to understand.

I offer a few example of indepth coverage we didn't have 20 years ago:
20 years ago a lie or or mis truth by a biased reporter could go un noticed, Rather was exposed as the fraud and liar he was and his career ended when he was exposed by some bloggers who cleared Bushes good name.

The stained blue dress exposed a perjuring president of an impeachable offence. If it was not for The Drudge Report, We wouldn;t have known what a lying cheating son of a gun Clinton was.

The current revolution against the socialists in power wouldn't even be noticed if it wasn't for talk radio and the 24 hour news channels.

Yeah, there is some slanted news, but sometimes its a good thing, We get to eventually sort and figure it out. It was aways slanted It was always leftist. It's just today they are more unabashed about it, and we now have our right wing news sources and opinionologists.
