Submitted my application, let the clock start ticking

Submitted my application on Friday the 28th of August. I filled out the application, but I printed the fees listing from the website showing the $70 veterans fee, the application didn't show it under the special provisions. I hope that the fine folks in the processing center can figure out what it means. They are sending out old applications when a new fee is appicable.

gmcretz ~ Glad to meet a fellow vet (USAF 79-92).
During my class, the Instructor had us (who are vets) simply write "Veteran" in on block 19 (Calculation of Fees), line over to the price, and write in "$70.00." But, as long as you sent in a copy of your DD214, they'll get the message.
Settle in and try not to sweat the wait too much, at least until you get to the 100 calender day mark, lol. Word is that the DPS has brought in some help to speed the paperwork up a bit. The real grunt work is the background check by DPS in your region. They're doing the best they can.
Salute

Roan, I did basically the same thing. I printed the fees page, wrote it in myself and even "checked" my own box. I hope the folks there have a sense of humor about it.

Thank you Sir for your service.

Received a letter from DPS on Oct 2nd stating they needed an "unaltered" copy of my DD-214. I realized that when I made a copy of it, I had misaligned the form and had cut off part of the form number. I made the copy showing everything including the complete form number and returned it the same day. Received my PIN on Oct 23rd which shows "processing application" when I log-in, now let's see how long this takes. I have an active secret clearance for the contract position I perform for the military, I have 3 separate state manager licenses (for the TXDPS) that are active, and I have zero issues in my background

. Wonder how long it will take them to connect the dots and realize that I am one of the good guys who is allowed to carry?

Seems that it it might take them longer then expected, maybe they are making sure you are not a spy

Good luck to all of you that are still waiting.
