I saw the advertisement for this in Handgunner Magazine (Sept 09) and was wondering if anyone has experience (it IS new) or opinions on the item?

Don't have any personal experience but Greg Rodriguez who writes for Gun's and Ammo Handguns Mag wrote an Article called "Light Makes Right". He highlighted it and said that it really helped him in speed and accurracy. Here is a link to the online edition. After reading it I thought about getting one myself, but then again dry firing is free. ;-) Also I think I remember seeing a guy use one on youtube. Hope this helps.

Don't know about anyone else - but the idea of putting my thumb (or some other digit) up behind the slide to push the button is just asking to lose part of said digit if the trigger should get pulled prematurely (say, under stress or combat).
