Polishing feed ramps

Polishing the feed ramp in your gun can go along way toward preventing jams - and maybe other problems. I'm curious as to what people are using to polish their feed ramps? What compounds or chemicals are you using? Or are you just using a soft rag and some elbow grease? Thanks. :headscratch

Dremel, cone shaped buffing pad and jewelers rouge(sp).

Use even movements and don't over do it. It may look like your not removing any metal but you are. Clean very well when you are finished or the process may continue elsewhere.

Great minds think alike. I use a Dremel tool with the polishing cone and a tiny dab of Flitz metal polish.

LOL.

Seriously, like others, I use the Dremel with the conical felt tip and either extremely fine jewelers rouge or Flitz. Slow but sure makes for a nice super slick mirror-like finish on the ramp.

Okay, I have googled it and can't find a clear definition. Can anyone point me at an explanation of what a "feed-ramp" is?

Actually toothpaste is a mild abrasive (the main ingredient is silica). How do you think it polishes your teeth?

Maybe the military refers to it by another name.
