Counting Down the Days Until I'm 21...

I was told by this guy who owns a shooting range in the area that I don't have to be 21 when I apply for a CHL. He said I could send it off so many days before my birthday and it would be okay. Anyone know the number of days before I turn 21 that I can complete the CHL course and send in my application?

One of the certified Instructors will confirm but I believe you can take the class as much as 6 months before your 21st BD, fill out all paper work, but have to wait until you are 21 to mail it in.

That sounds about right. Oh, that makes me excited! I'll have to confirm with an instructor like you said, but if that's the case that means if I just wait until February my husband and I can take the course together. Thanks much!! :woohoo

It seems to me he has as much as a 2 week grace period, because they don't appear to enter it into the system for at least two weeks after they get it. I'm sneaking up on three weeks, and mine still says "Packet mailed to applicant".

it doesn't matter when you send it, it matters when your affidavits are dated. Woe unto he who swears he is 21 before he is.

Good point and very true.
