New - $250 with the current $50 rebate

Best gun for the money I've ever owned and S&W's service is stellar.

I couldn't ask for a better truck gun.

Wanna talk about triggers? Go ahead....ask me. ;-)

That's a screamin' deal, currently going for $299 - $50 rebate from Bud's Gun Shop. I got mine for $329 with a $50 rebate AND two more mags in spring 08 from Academy. Never a single solitary failure!

I guess I oughtta buy another one from Bud's. How can you beat 17 rounds of 9mm in an uber-reliable gun made in the USA with a lifetime warranty for $250? You can't.

Smith will improve the trigger and pay shipping both ways.
Got mine back within 2 weeks.

Can't beat it. :smash:

Really? What do they do to it and what is the result? I have smoothed mine and lightened the pull with alternate springs, but wonder if they do anything else that I haven't already?

got mine back and it was safely "stiff" but MUCH smoother

Since mine's a home defense/truck gun...I like the aggressive trigger pull.

If the a problem arises, I bet I won't notice it. ;-)

I think they do less than you have done. I think they probably buff and polish the sear and you wind up with a smoother trigger.

Most of the trigger issue with the Sigma has to do with the fact that it cocks the striker entirely with each trigger pull, so you have to compress the striker spring with the trigger and minimal leverage. So if you really want a lighter trigger, the answer is to replace the striker spring with a lighter spring, which risks light strikes. Most other "DAO" striker-fired pistols only partially cock the striker with the trigger (it's partially-cocked by the cycling of the action on recoil).

BTW removing or changing, cutting, etc. springs in the sear assy may affect reliability of reset of the trigger or sear. I have tried mine both ways and I think the spring changes, besides the striker spring, have little noticeable difference on the trigger feel. But I suspect a striker spring would have a big effect. Maybe go as low as 4.5 lb and then run a few hundred rounds through it to verify you didn't wind up causing light strikes. But I think the common replacement striker spring is 3.75 lb and that is too light. Glock striker springs will fit.

The one I had got smoothed out a bit by dryfiring it whilst watching my stories on the TeeVee.
