Welcome to the forum RocTrac. Lots of good info here while you wait...

If you ordered your packet online from DPS, you should have the PIN. If you received a packet from your instructor, DPS will send your PIN in the mail a few weeks after receiving it. For me it took 3-6 weeks, but my packet was mailed to DPS in April when processing time was higher. I'm sure someone who recently sent their app in could give a better estimate.

If they didn't give you a PIN, you can also request by email (the address is on their site) - that's what I did.

I believe that I got my pin in the mail right at 3 weeks after sending my application. Austin received my application at the very end of September.

This may help they sent me my pin in less than 24 hrs
please contact TxDPS via email (chl@txdps.state.tx.us) and include the following information: driver license number, full name and date of birth. Your PIN will be returned in a timely fashion to the same email address submitting the request and in the order your request was received

Based on the message above, I requested my PIN at 8:30 this morning -- it came at 2:20 this afternoon!
So I'm now officially "being processed".

Actually, not only did I get the pin by email today, but my wife brought home the snail-mail version today, too.
So it only took from the 19th to the 28th for them to receive the app, and process it to the point of issuing a PIN.
She was so proud -- thought she was bringing me my LICENSE! Had to let her down easy.
