In Sardinia, New York (middle of nowhere), Sunday, a man shot a buck from his vehicle, then returned with an arrow and tried to make it look like the deer had been taken with an arrow. It's bow season.

A witness saw him, and he was arrested and charged with several violations.

Geniuses like this give a bad image to all hunters.

P.S.: There are so many hunting accidents in the news today, it would be depressing to post them.

I'm sick of mindless cruelty and stupidity as well as malfeasance and misfeasance of office - wherever and by whomever.

Get a rope! We need to set some examples. :rules:

Depending on what he used to shoot the deer, I'd be concerned about damage to his daughter's hearing.

That must be some wicked broadhead to do the same damage as a rifle bullet. Or perhaps the dude is just a simple idiot.

I'm not sure where the endangerment of a child charge comes from unless they are just piling it on to see what sticks best.

The news story says it was an 80-yard shot. Few people can hit the side of a barn, let alone take a deer, at 80 yards with a handgun. Probably the guy used a rifle of fair caliber. Firing a rifle inside a vehicle, even if hanging out the window, could well cause permanent hearing damage to the infant.

That said, this incident occurred in New York. The police probably are going to pile on every offense that they can come up with.
