Well, after reading some pretty decent reviews on this pistol, I went ahead and picked one up at Academy yesterday. It was just really hard for me to pass up a 10 +1 45 ACP for $329.99 brand new that dang near fits in a pocket holster (ordered a Crossbreed Supertuck instead of a pocket holster, ha). This thing REALLY feels nice to hold.

After I put it to the test at the range, this will (hopefully) be replacing my M&P 40 for daily carry.

Looking forward to adding my positive review to the many others I have read on this neat little pea shooter.

Congratulations on the new purchase. I've thought about the PT145 from time to time, but will probably stick with the compact 1911 and SuperTuck I'm planning on using for my main carry once the CHL comes through. The Taurus may find it's way into my gun locker someday though

Congrats on the purchase! I have owned my PT145 Mil Pro for about 2 years. I bought my wife a .38 Special S & W revolver and she didn't like the sharp recoil on it. She shot my PT145 and said "I want one of those." So we traded the revolver and now we have 2 in the family now.

I also carry in the Crossbreed Supertuck. Very comfortable and concealed.

Yep , after countless hundreds of rounds so far , I'm very pleased with mine.
Its my primary carry with an LCP as a BUG.

Loved how mine fired. It was soft and as accurate as any of my other pistols. Downside: The magazine release kept being activated with the gun was in its holster. Several times I would be putting the gun away at night and find the magazine loose and once it fell completely out of the gun and hit the floor while I was at a friends house!

For holsters I used both a Supertuck and High Noon Split Decision and had problems when using both. I was never sure if the problem was a fault with the gun, a long magazine release that was simply being pushed by my body while carrying, or something else. As much as I loved the gun I traded it for another since I could not trust it for carry. Check yours out for similar problems. Hopefully you won't have the same issue!

I can see that happening with IWB holsters . With my Kholster I cut the leather away from the mag release area .
I mostly use a Galco OWB and that problem doesn't exist because nothing contacts the release .

I had the same issue with mine. Mine would also release while I was firing it (fat fingers perhaps ) but I think that where the release is on the curve of the grip makes it jut out too much and makes it easier to push. I kept it for about 100 rounds and traded it in for my Kimber.

Yup. Mine would occasionally eject while firing also. My first thought was like yours that I was hitting the release with my fingers. Don't know for certain how it activiated from time to time, but it did. It's good to hear that I'm not the only one that ran into problems withe the mags releasing.

Check how you're holding the weapon. I had a friend put some rounds down range with my PT145. Every time he shot it, he would trip the mag release. Every time I shot it, no problems.

I'm going to blame it on his Air Force training.

I have heard of this problem, but have not experienced with my PT145. I saw somewhere, possibly on another forum, that someone with this problem took some leather out of the holster where the realease was and actually filed down the release a little. He claimed this solved his problem.

Mine is like USA1's, never missed a beat!
