These are pretty good prices. IMHO, the Crickett is the perfect starter firearm for young people.

Academy usually has some sort of home defense type 12g for under 200. Is that HR shotgun any good? Or is it like their mountain bikes; meaning that if you actually take one on a mountain, it's probably gonna fall apart.

(My other hobby is MTB)

I don't know. I can't find a review of the Harrington & Richardson tactical model.

Harrington & Richardson has the same corporate parent at Remington, and they may import some firearms from China. I have no great liking for the Reds, as we used to call them, but they make decent firearms.

It's very likely better than nothing, for someone who doesn't want to spend hundreds more on a Rooney gun.

I have to agree with you there. The "Reds" made some very sturdy and tough weapons. I guess having invading armies within spittin distance of your capitol city twice in the same century would cause one to pay attention.

I wonder if Obama will try to destroy Colt by forcing the military to start buying small arms from Norinco. I wouldn't put it past him.

The H&R Pardner Pump Protector is a good shotgun. I keep one by the bed. It's a clone of the Rem. 870, made in China. The only drawback I see is the magazine only holds 5 shells. The sale price of $159.99 is fantastic.

IMHO, if five rounds of buckshot haven't solved the problem, a few more won't.

Yes, I believe that is the one. Though the ad does not specifically refer to it as the "Pardner Protector".

No, it doesn't say Pardner, but it does say H&R Protector. The image shown is the exact image of the Pardner Pump Protector on the H&R website.

You are correct, I was noticing the same thing. I have read on a couple different forums that many of the accessories for the 870 will fit the Pardner. That would be a plus.
