AHhhhhhh Man ...I'm bummmed out !!!
Went shooting out in the Desert this afternoon.... Clean pistol, never had a problem what soever, fresh ammo ..(History//Maybe 500 rds thru this gun).. No indication of any thing wrong.....ETC...
Long story short ....
Fed the XD a full, fresh mag. of ammo, pointed her down range, squeeshed tha' trigger..... It fired...BUT.... the trigger remained depressed and would not return to the firing position.
Made the pistol safe. No rd. and removed tha' mag.
Tried to inspect, to find out why the trigger would not return. It felt like it was dragging.... depressing the palm/grip safety, I could rack the slide back (Normal) but the only way I could
get the trigger back to normal position was to push it forward, it felt like it was dragging and kinda stiff. The little safety trigger looked and felt fine.
Sorry 'bout tha' grammar and sentence structure, and the typing with my toes .... BUT, if you have any ideas ....I would appreciate some of your Gunsmithing knowledge.
I'm the original owner, NIB.... from a retailer, approximately 3 years old.
What would you do ?
Mac

Never heard of this problem before. I tend to agree with wk on this on the trigger spring.

Try the folks on XD Talk. If this has happened, they can point you in the right direction.

If something broke, Springfield Armory will make sure that it is taken care of. You should also consider giving Deb (customer service) a call and talking through the issue.

Sorry to hear of troubles with your XD.

Only a few parts that effect the trigger: trouble with trigger, trigger bar, and trigger bar spring are the most likely.
Only choice is to ship it to Springfield for repair, or you or a gunsmith to tear it down and determine which piece needs to be replaced. Springfield will ship most pieces directly for replacement, but not the trigger bar.... I know because I had to replace the wifes trigger bar in her XD9 after 7-8 thousand rounds and actually ordered the part from Springer to save some time. Feel free to shoot me a pm if you have any questions.

Had it w/ a KelTec but never on an XD. I also would call Springer & let them fix it for $0.00.
