I'm planning a trip to Falcon Reservoir in a few weeks. I know it's a State Park (not Corps of Engineers, not listed here: http://gorp.away.com/gorp/resource/us_nra/ace/tx.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) lake so concealed carry is legal. But, are there issues I should be concerned with since some of the lake is under the control of Mexico? I do not plan to put to shore on the Mexican side. Any guidance and experiences welcome!

Divide the lake into half with a line that parallels the boarder, and stay on the Texas side.

Is the list complete? I thought that most of the lakes with dams were COE. My main concern is Lake Livingston. I have a home on that lake. Is it OK to carry on Lake Livingston?

Definitely stay on the US side of the channel markers and DO NOT even think about carrying your CC across the border.

No - many lakes and reservoirs are privately built (no Federal involvement - except for environmental regs). There are 6736 lakes and reservoirs in Texas - only 31 are US Army Corps of Engineers operated. Lake Livingston is owned by the City of Houston and the Trinity River Water Authourity (they fee purchased the land and hired a contractor to build the dam).

I think it was Falcon Lake some years back where the gringos put in on the U.S. side and were caught fishing on the U.S. side by Mexican game wardens. Their fine bass boat was confiscated and they were arrested and later "bonded out" with a cash payment. I don't know if it's illegal to kill a Mexican game warden in U.S. waters, but I can't think of a more patriotic act right now. Frankly, the Americans were kidnapped, and kidnapping justifies the use of lethal force in self defense. That's on Mexican game warden within zero to 300 yards out in my scoped sights.

Every time the Mexican "authorities" had me hemmed up it was no joke. Although after some negotians and a small cash payment you can usually be on your way. Just be prepared to get your mandatory speeding ticket if you are driving through any border town.
